What is the Free Trial?

Our Free Trial is a no obligation two week  subscription. It is the same service that you would receive as a paid subscriber. It provides a chance for you to assess our service.  At the end of the trial you will be reminded that you need to choose a paid subscription if you want to continue the PNJ service. If you decide not to subscribe, just do nothing and the service automatically stops. That's it. If you decide that you wish to continue your Peter's New Jobs subscription you then must choose one of the paid subscription options.

How do I get a Free Trial?

Why cannot I just keep ordering Free Trials?
The Free Trial is a once only offer to allow potential subscribers to sample the service. It lasts two weeks and provides you with ample opportunity to review the service and decide if you would like a paid subscription. Subsequent requests for additional free trials will be directed to our subscription purchase page.

How do I pay?
You can pay online by credit card, PayPal account or by mail via a cheque. Our prefered method of payment is online. PayPal offers a credit card option so you do not need to have a PayPal account. Just click the Continue link beside the "Don't have a PayPal Account?" line on the bottom left side of our PayPal payment page. For more details, go to our Paying by Credit Card page. Alternatively, if you are on a Peter's New Jobs payment page, you can just fill in the credit card information rather than sign into PayPal. This will save you time.

Why does PNJ use PayPal?
Peter's New Jobs uses PayPal as a third party processing company. PayPal is a large, multinational and trusted company that ensures your privacy and security. This allows our subscribers to pay online without having to share their credit card information with us. PayPal accepts credit card payments, you can use them just like any other credit card purchase on the Net and you do not have to have a PayPal account.

I am having trouble paying online. What's wrong?
Since our payment processing is handled by PayPal we typicallly direct any payment  questions to PayPal and their extensive online and phone technical support.  PayPal's online help/contact page is located here. However, Peter's New Jobs has worked with PayPal for over 5 years and we are aware of the most common payment issues and solutions. Here is a short list of the most common problems and solutions:

Using your credit card

  1. WRONG NAME OR ADDRESS. Name or address you enter does not match that associated with your credit card. The name and address you enter online must exactly match the name and address associated with the credit card.
  2. INCORRECT CSC CODE. You have to enter the three digit CSC code (on the back of your credit card). PayPal provides an explanation.
  3. TOOK TOO LONG TO PURCHASE. If an online purchase takes too long, for security reasons, the session runs out of time (times out) and is cancelled. This could be due to PayPal's servers being too busy, slow Internet, etc. You simply need to redo the online purchase. In the case that you inadvertently purchase a subscription twice, just notify us and we will refund one of them for you.

Using your PayPal account

  1. INCORRECT LOGIN. People forget. You can request a password reset from PayPal. Alternatively, you do not need to use your PayPal account and can pay by credit card via PayPal.
  2. EXPIRED BANK INFORMATION. Your credit card or bank account information has expired or changed. Often, your banking information is now out of date or incorrect. You need to either update it or again, pay directly with your credit card.

My subscription never started. Why not?

The most likely reason is that our emails are being flagged as spam by either your ISP, anti-spam software if you have it or your email program (e.g., Outlook). You need to ensure that you have followed our instructions to add Peter's New Jobs to your Safe Sender/Allowed/White List to ensure that our emails are not diverted or deleted as spam. Please go to our Spam Help page for instructions.

If you have followed our spam instructions, there could have been an error on our part. Please contact our Help Desk and we will work with you to correct the problem.

My subscription started but then stopped. What happened?
In almost all cases, if you have been receiving emails and they suddenly stop, the reason will be one of the following:

  1. FREE TRIAL ENDED. Your free trial has ended and you did not select a paid subscription option to continue the service. Simply go to our Purchase page to choose the subscription that you want.
  2. SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRED. Your subscription has expired and you did not renew. You can renew the subscription by choosing a renewal option from the reminder email you received or going to our Purchase page and choosing a subscription. If you feel that your subscription ended early, please contact our Help Desk and we will work with you to correct the problem.
  3. NON-PAYMENT. If we have not received your payment and you have not replied to our inquiries your subscription may have been stopped. Please contact our Help Desk and we will work with you to correct the problem.
  4. SPAM SOFTWARE. If you did not add Peter's New Jobs to your Safe Sender/Allowed/White list, our emails may have been recently flagged as spam. This may result in all subsequent emails being diverted or deleted. Please follow our instructions on our Spam Help page to see if this resolves the problem for you.

Why don't I see job links or nothing happens when I click a link?

This is always due to a local security setting on your computer, web browser or email program. If an email is identified as spam, a phishing attempt or a possible security risk, most webmail and email programs will disable the links so that they do not work. The programs will offer you an option to enable these links by indicating that the program is not spam or a security risk. While each program is different, typically you have to:

  1. Move the PNJ email from a Spam, Junk Mail or other folder to your Inbox.
  2. Click on a link or select an option to specifically enable the links.

Your local email settings may also disable all hyperlinks. This would apply to all emails and you would notice that links did not work in any email you receive.

Why do I go to an error page or not see any job when I click a link?
This usually means that the job description has been removed or deleted. Peter's New Jobs collects new job postings in the previous 24 hours. Occasionally, a company will remove a job posting after we have picked it up and distributed the list to our subscribers. If you feel there is a problem, please feel free to contact our Help Desk and we will follow up.
